【グループレッスンレポ】９月２６日メル講師グループレッスン♪

昨日行われたメル講師のグループレッスンのレポです♪
まずは昨日のブログでもご紹介した
ＢＢカードの回からレポしていきたいと思います！
昨日参加者の方全員がＢＢカード未経験者の方ということで
まずはそれぞれのカードの確認からしていきました。
しかしこのＢＢカード、
♢♡♧♤と４つのマーク毎に１６枚のカードがあります。
いきなり最初から
全部６４枚のカードとセンテンスを確認したら
ただの暗唱で終わってしまい、
非常にツマラナイものになってしまうこと間違いなしでしたので
今回は♢マークのカード１６枚に絞って確認し、
それから♢のカードを使ってビンゴゲームをする
という流れでレッスンを構成してみました。
最初は戸惑いが少し見られた参加者の方ですが
徐々にセンテンスにも慣れ、
ちゃんとビンゴゲームまでやり切ってくれました♪
やはりゲームとなるとみんな楽しそうでしたね(^^)
今回取り扱った♢には
Peter Pipper（ピーター・パイパー）という
ＢＢカード界の蝉丸が出てくるのですが、
心なしかみんなPeter Pipperのところは
楽しそうに読んでいたような。。。
Peter Pipper、なぜだか人気がありましたね(^^;
そんな感じで盛り上がっていて楽しそうでしたよ♪
また次回以降、その他のカードを使って今回と同様な感じで
まずはＢＢカードに慣れてもらおうと考えています。
まずは大成功でした！
さて、次は１６時の回、ディスカッションクラスです。
今回のテーマは
“★Are video games actually good for you?”
でした。
前回と同じメンバーが揃い、
最初から打ち解けた感じでトークが進んでいました。
残念ながらZoomに不具合が生じてしまった関係で
私はそちらの復旧にまわらなければならず
すべてのトークを聞くことができませんでした(T_T)
でもメルによると終始話が盛り上がっていたそうです♪
また来月も身近な話題探しておきます！
最後は１７時の回、マイクラレッスンです。
通常の金曜・土曜のマイクラグループレッスンは
クリエイティブモードを基本とし、
いろいろな建物を作ることでEnglishbudsワールドを
創造してもらっています。
マイクラではサバイバルモードも人気で
特に男の子から「サバイバルモードで遊びたい！」という
リクエストをいただいていました。
ということで、
今回はサバイバルモードで５０分フルに遊んでもらいました♪
私はマイクラの操作に少しずつ慣れてはきましたが
まだネコの世話と整地作業ぐらいしかできないので
サバイバルモードの操作は無理です・・・(T_T)
そんなわけで
今回のレッスンは影武者を雇い、代わりにプレイしてもらいました。
この影武者、「やられたらやり返す」精神満々で、、、
昨日のマイクラの私は
「好戦的なオバサンだなぁ～。なんて大人げないんだ！」と
思われていたかもしれないです。。。
私は横で見ているだけでしたが
終始みなさん楽しそうでしたね。
・・・しかし、、、
戦うと人は無言になるのですね( -_-)
いつものクリエイティブモードに比べると
発話が少なめで話すこともパターンが決まっていたかな
という印象でした。
発話を求めるEnglishbudsとしては
もう少し違うパターンを模索していきたいかな・・・
という課題が残りました。
最近、私も本当にちょっとですが、
操作のスキルがあがってきまして、
なんと！！！
一人一人のゲームモードを変更できるようになりました。
コマンドも覚えてきました(^^)v
ということで、リクエストいただければ
通常レッスンでも最後の方、
ご褒美的にサバイバルに変更させていただけますので
今後のサバイバルモードはそのような扱いにしたいと
考えております。
次回のアイデアですが、
次回までに私がどこかの土地をきれいに整地おくので
そこに参加者４名を２人１組に分け、２人で協力して
何か建造物を作ってもらうコンテストでもやってみようかな！
と考えています。
Zoomの機能もいろいろと使いこなせるようになり、
もうすでにディベート部で使っていますが
グループ分けの機能をマイクラでも使ってみようかと(^^)
これだと話し合わないと作業できないので
発話も増えますよね～♪
う～ん、なんだか楽しそう！
ネコを引き連れて整地作業頑張ってみます♪

Today, I would like to share about the latest group lessons that Mommy Kayo and I organized and hosted. We had three group lessons again today, just like the last time. Today was quite challenging for me as it was my first time to play BB cards with the students. I practiced really hard for it! I even told Mommy Kayo that I was nervous and asked her If I could talk with her before the group lesson started. But Mommy Kayo told me she knew that I would surely do well (she never fails to boost my confidence). She also reminded me to speak clearly and not so quickly because the participants were all new to BB cards activity. And of course, she told me to just enjoy the game with the children…
There were 4 participants in our BB card game. I can say that this activity really is so fun and very helpful in developing your children’s listening and speaking skills. Playing this can also be an excellent way for kids to practice following instructions.
The participants were first instructed to get the cards with hearts on them. Then they were asked to spread the cards in order while we were casting spells on the cards using the BB cards magic words. Ater that, I asked them to repeat the silly sentences that go with each card .
The highlight of the game was when we played BINGO using the BB cards. All of the participants listened and repeated the silly sentences well . It was exciting and extremely fun!!!
Have you ever tried playing with BB cards, Mommies and Daddies?.. If not, I highly recommend you to try playing it with your kiddos. You’ll surely love and enjoy it…The second session of the group lesson was a discussion. The topic focused on discussing and stating the participants opinion on whether it is good for children to play video games. This time, the participants took turns voicing out their stand regarding the topic. All of them discussed the benefits and risks that come with playing video games. It was so amazing that eventhough they all have the same views about our topic, they shared different reasons and instances to explain their thoughts. They were all soooooooo FANTASTIC!!!
I always avoid too serious atmosphere when I am having group lessons, especially when it comes to discussions. I want the students to feel more relaxed and enjoy friendly conversations. I believe that having a friendly mood would encourage students to speak more freely and comfortably. A friendly discussion mood breaks barriers and shoos away inhibitions. Just like what happened in our last discussion, the participants were all so relaxed and honest about what they shared in our discussion. They did not even hesitate to share some funny things about themselves and we all laughed. It was another very, very pleasurable, meaningful, and warm discussion.The last session was about MINECRAFT. Four students who love playing MINECRAFT joined the group lesson, and we enjoyed playing in SURVIVAL MODE. It was exhilirating!!! It was our first time to host this game in survival mode, and I can say it was really extremely fun and exciting. Players enjoyed playing tag and having duels in the game. Some of us enjoyed mining and collecting materials to build a house. Everyone really had an amazing time playing, talking and teasing each other. Even Mommy Kayo joined us and practiced using the bow and arrows. I really cannot wait to do it again…
Thank you so much again for letting your children join our group lessons, Mommies and Daddies… We really do hope that your little ones had an amazing with us… We are looking forward to having more incredible, memorable and wonderful English learning activities with you… THANK YOU ALWAYS…
