今日の担当はデイジー講師です。

昔、司馬遼太郎先生の本で

「日本人は忘れやすい民族だ。

ずっと昔のことを覚えているような気質では

台風や地震など自然災害が多いこの国では暮らしていけない」

というようなことを読んだ記憶があります。

（定かではないのですが・・・💦）

そんな影響なのか

コロナ禍もだんだんなかったことになっていってるような(^^;

Go to トラベルとか始まってますしね・・・。

しかし、フィリピン、

特にセブはまだコロナの影響が強く残っています。

Before the corona virus pandemic, my husband and I used to bring our baby with us everywhere: at our law office, during meetings and even at the Hall of Justice when either of us had a court hearing or an important matter to attend to. When news about the outbreak started early this year, Anthony and I were very anxious about going outside.

As much as possible, we tried to conduct meetings and provide legal services online. Our former law office at the heart of Cebu City was closed for nearly half a year because it was located near hospitals and clinics. It was a difficult decision to make but the health of our family especially that of our baby would always be our priority.

Recently, we have decided to open a home office wherein we can continue to practice law and teach online at the safety of our own house. It is much safer for us because our residence is located in the southern part of the city in which fewer active cases are recorded as compared to the central area where there are relatively more corona virus patients.

In this way, we can guarantee the health and safety of our family while being able to work from home. We get to conduct meetings and lessons online without having to go outside thereby minimizing the risk of exposure to COVID-19. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to work as teachers at Englishbuds and as virtual lawyers.

The internet is definitely a very useful tool in our day-to-day work life. Being up to date with modern technological and digital trend is truly an advantage for our careers especially in these challenging times. Maximizing the use of the internet is indeed very important to adjust to the new normal. In fact, many courts in the Philippines have started to conduct online hearings and slowly transition to electronic court filing.

However, the internet providers in the Philippines are not very reliable at all times. There are instances when the connection fluctuates and may get unstable. They have maintenance repairs from time to time. It may cause disruptions in our online meetings and lessons. We hope that in the future, the internet connection across the country will improve. For now, we are still grateful to have access to the internet which enables us to work from home.

弁護士業務とバズの講師業務を両立してくれて

本当にありがたい限りです。

特にディベート部はデイジーなしでは考えられないですから。。。

そもそもEnglishbudsは私も含め

講師全員が最初からリモートワーク・・・。

オフィスが持てないだけの話でしたが

時代を先取りしていたということにしておこう(笑)
