CARS 1: A Movie about Real Friendship and Sportsmanship

I have always been a car enthusiast ever since I was a child. I find it amusing to see racing games and look at different car models. Perhaps this is the reason why my all time favorite movie is “Cars”. What I also love most about this movie is the character of Lightning McQueen. At first, he was a talented, but arrogant rookie race car but due to circumstances beyo Lightning McQueen, a talented, but arrogant, rookie race car ends up in a town called Radiator Springs as he travels to California to compete for the Piston Cup. Unable to reach the outside world, he is stuck in the run-down town. Fortunately, through Lightning’s experiences with the cars of Radiator Springs, McQueen learns some important life lessons and finds some true friends. Some of the things I have learned from this movie are the importance of being a good “sport”, working well with others, and taking responsibility for all of your actions.

And his control, Lighting McQueen ended up in small a town called Radiator Springs wherein he learned some important life lessons and made great friends. He learned the importance of being a good “sport”, humility, working well with others, taking responsibility for all of your actions and being a true friend.

Recently, we had the chance to re-watch all the Cars movie as a family. My wife and I decided to introduce the movie to our son, Matthew. We all enjoyed the move and were fascinated with all the character’s development. Most of all, “Cars” can help teach our son how to be a good sport and to be a loyal friend.

First of all, from this movie, we want to share the value of having good sportsmanship to our sons. In Cars, Lightning McQueen learned that there’s a whole lot more to racing than just winning. In the beginning of this movie, McQueen was an arrogant car who wouldn’t respect his pit crew, didn’t listen to The King’s advice, and he made fun of Chick, his opponent. But because of his life-changing experience in Radiator Spring, he was able to learn how to demonstrate sportsmanship. Someday, we also hope that our son would be a good sport in any type of athletic game or in his PE class. Being a good sport can mean just shaking hands with an opponent after a match, or saying “good job” after a game to the opposing team regardless of the result.

Additionally, we also want to share in our son the value of loyalty and friendship. We hope that by watching “Cars”, he will learn to make good friends and appreciate the people around him. These are lessons that I also personally learned while watching “Cars” when I was younger. This time I want to pass on these life lessons to our son by watching my favorite movie “Cars”. Overall, “Cars” certainly has many meaningful themes that can teach both the viewers and Lightning McQueen. At the end of the movie, McQueen discovered the importance of teamwork and friendship which allowed him to transfer into a better personality and win the respect of many others. The themes of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and taking responsibility for your actions can be useful any time such as in athletics after a tennis match, when working with others for a school project, or even for improving your results in a piano competition. Regardless of how these themes are used, they will always serve as guidelines for everybody and maybe someday they can make some big changes to each person, just like they did for Lightning McQueen.
