Trick or treat
Build Competition
何にもないんだから当たり前ですが(^^;
Happy weekend, Mommy and Daddies!!! I hope that you are all having lovely and relaxing time with your loved ones. It is getting colder and the air is getting dry. I have noticed that many of the students have cough or cold… Please take good care…
Oh, by the way, today I would like to share some stories about the 3 wonderful group lessons that we just had. It was kind of a bit different from our previous group lessons as we held our very first ONLINE HALLOWEEN PARTY today. Since many countries still haven’t flatten the COVID-19 curve yet, we still cannot hold parties or events. Halloween is one of the most exciting part of the year for many children around the world. It is the time of the year where they can put on their favorite costume. Garbed in their cool , lovely and sometimes spooky costumes, they would usually enjoy parties with friends, do Halloween activities, and get many snacks from trick or treating. Sadly, because of COVID-19, our kids cannot enjoy it this year. That was why Mommy Kayo thought of having a Halloween party in one of our online group lessons. I was so excited when Mommy Kayo told me about it. Especially when she told me that I would be needing to dress up for the Halloween party, too. The thought of it actually made me feel all giddy inside.
There were 4 participants in our Online Halloween Party. They were all so adorable in their costumes! One of the girls was dressed up as an enchanting fairy, and the other girl was wearing a lovely and trendy witch costume, she told us that she was a spider witch. We also had 2 boys in the group lesson. One them was looking so handsome in his wizard costume. He was also with his little sister who was dressed up in a pretty orange cape and purple witch hat. The last boy participant was really so cool in his spider man mask. They were all prepared for our Halloween party! We had a blast playing BINGO using Halloween bingo cards, we sang some Halloween songs, too. I was honestly glad that everyone sang with me. They even said that they loved the songs! After that, we proceeded to our SPOOKY STORY TELLING TIME. I was a bit worried if everyone would be willing to share a story. Some children really are shy to tell stories when there are many people listening to them. But amazingly, all of them shared their original spooky stories!!! One of the boys even prepared some props for his story. Their stories were all like music to my ears… They were supposed to spook me out, but I was feeling extremely happy while listening to their stories. It was truly an amazing experience for me… I could tell that everyone had an amazing time as well. Thank you, Mommy Kayo for making it happen…
The second group lesson was a discussion. We had the same brainy and open-minded members from our last session. I really, really always enjoy the group discussion. I love listening to the students’ thoughts and views about different issues. I love seeing how genuine and passionate they are when they speak their mind. And I love how they respect each other’s opinion. I somehow feel like I am just talking with very young friends whenever I am having this group discussions. It always gives me a warm feeling.
The participants were given a question as a guide for our discussion. The question was, ” Do you think that it is important for children to read books?” I am proud to say that all our participants did their best and did an incredible job in our group discussion… They were all really brilliant… Although they had different explanations about their opinion, they all agreed that reading books is definitely important for children to widen their knowledge, enhance their creativity and imagination, and prepare themselves for the future. We also discussed about the other things that are essential in developing the skills of growing up children. And of course, we did not forget to talk about something that would lighten up everyone’s mood and make us smile. It was another inspiring and enlightening group discussion. I really loved it!
The third and the last one was the MINECRAFT group lesson. This time, we thought of a ZOO building competition. We had four participants and devided them into two groups with two members each. We decided to use the breakout room feature of zoom for this session. That was to make sure that each group would be able to communicate and work well with each other while working on their zoos without letting the other team hear their ideas. Mommy Kayo actually secretly prepared this special and gigantic area for this ZOO Building Competition. I was amazed at how big the place was, and she managed to flatten and arrange the blocks on the area all by herself! It’s FANTASTIC!
Everyone was so focused and excited while building their zoo! Sadly, one of the members had a problem with his device and could not do much to help his partner. But I was so touched and amazed on how patient and positive they were even though they knew that they were left behind by the other group. One of the boys kept encouraging him to still help and assured him that it was okay even if he was having troubles placing items in their zoo. And I was really glad that the boy who had the trouble with his device did not get cranky at all. He was sad that he could help his partner, but he was so calm and did his best to help his kind partner. It was really so beautiful and touching. The other group on the other hand was super busy with their zoo. They were very creative with their ideas! They even built this beautiful Christmas tree in the zoo and placed a lot fascinating details in it. Watching them work together was extremely exciting, and it was soooooo fun to listen to their conversations. They looked and sounded so passionate about what they were doing. They even lit some fireworks before we ended the session! It was supposed to be a competition, but due to the problem that one of the players had, we didn’t announce a winner… Oh, well, we really didn’t have any intention of choosing a winner. We were thinking more of letting the members unleash their creativity, develop teamwork in this session, and learn to appreaciate each other work. And I am almost a hundred percent sure that this theme served it purposes for our MINECRAFT members. But since we were really feeling bad that one of the players was not able to really enjoy the zoo building session, and their team could not finish their zoo, Mommy Kayo invited them to join our Saturday regular MINECRAFT group lesson. Thank you always, Mommy Kayo!!!
I can say that this was another successful day for our group lessons… All of the session were just FANTABULOUS!!! Thank you so very, very, very much, Mommy and Daddies for trusting us… Thank you for continuously letting your precious little ones have English lessons with us… We are forever grateful…
