Is December 25th the real birth of Jesus Christ?
Christmas is just around the corner. On this day, the world celebrates the most joyous time of the year because it is the birthday of Jesus. It is also the most awaited day of all, especially by the children.
When I was little, the morning of December 25th was exciting because I woke up with gifts inside the sock, which I hung the night before by the window. It was also a special day when I could wear my pretty red dress that my mother would buy me. I would wear it when I went to my godmother, so she would give me gifts and candy that I loved. I was fascinated by many delightful things and generous people around me.Filipinos call it ‘Pasko’ from the word ‘Pascua’ in Spanish that means PEACE. There is a Christmas song in the Philippines that gives a message of hope that every day must be Christmas so the world would be a better place to live.
On that note, I asked myself if we could celebrate ‘Pascua’ or Christmas every day. So, I researched and found the answer.
‘PASCUA’ or PEACE is no other than Jesus Christ. Hence, If we follow and be like him, we’ll have peace in our hearts; we can celebrate Christmas every day.
Moreover, I also found out that Jesus’ date of birth is unknown; it is not on December 25th.
I also learned that the evening when Jesus was born, there were shepherds in the fields herding their sheep. How in the world could they herd the sheep if it was in December! They would get frozen to death!
That was the point when I contemplated when I should celebrate Christmas.
PEACE, Pascua, Pasko, and Christmas for many, must be celebrated every day.
