【講師コラム】マデル講師No.12～My Dream Destination? It’s Definitely JAPAN!!!～

Hello there, Mommies and Daddies! You must be busier these days as the kids are just staying home for summer vacation. And, since some cities are still under state of emergency because of the surge in daily confirmed cases of covid-19, many families cannot really go anywhere for your annual family trip or vacation. Covid-19 has been ruining many of our plans for almost 2 years now, right?.. By the way, have you already gotten vaccinated, Mommies and Daddies? Luckily, Teacher Mel and I got our first dose of Pfizer vaccine already, and we are scheduled to have our second dose by the end of August. Many are still skeptical on whether to have the vaccine or not. I, myself, was also having some doubts, but after our father and mother have gotten fully vaccinated already without having any suspicious side effect, Teacher Mel told me that she would register the two of us online, so we could get vaccinated as well. I really am praying that these vaccines would help us eliminate the spread of the virus, so we can all go back to our normal lives.

One of the things that many people got frustrated about when this pandemic happens is they cannot travel freely anymore. Here in the Philippines, we have been experiencing lockdown after lockdown for about 1 year and 5 months already. I would really want to go somewhere with my whole family, but citizens below 18 are not allowed to go out or enter any establishment. How I really wish we could go out again for a family outing…

On another note, I would like to talk about the topic for the lecturers’ entries this time; the places and the foods that we would visit and try if ever we could get to go to Japan someday. It really is difficult to choose when it comes to places as Japan is known to have many, many, many incredible and unique sight seeing spots. Japan is a dream destination for many people in different parts of the world, that includes myself.

                   I have always loved things about Japan. So, Teacher Mel and I sometimes talk about the places that we would never miss to visit when we go there. I really want to visit Tokyo. I want to go and enjoy its unique cafes and shops, and I would love see Tokyo Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower. Needless to say, I would never ever miss the chance to go to Disneyland and Disney Sea in Chiba. We don’t really have a lot of amusement parks here in the Philippines, so we would definitely want to visit Disneyland and Disney Sea. I would also love to visit Nara prefecture! I heard about the deer and beautiful nature in Nara, I really wish to see them in person someday. Kyoto is definitely on my list, too. They say that if you want to experience traditional Japanese culture, then you should visit Kyoto. I hope to see the beautiful and mesmerizing temples, shrines and castles in Kyoto (actually, in all over Japan). And, of course, Hokkaido!!! I want to experience winter and play with snow. That sounds childish, I know, butI really want to see snow even just once in my life (once is enough because I tend to get cold soooooo easily) … Teacher Mel and I are kind of interested in winter fashion, so we would want to wear lovely coats, scarf and winter boots, hehe!

                   When it comes to Japanese food, I guess I would like to try as many Japanese foods as possible. And I would never forget going to a ramen restaurant. We love ramen! I also love bread, cakes and pastries, and Japan is known for their lovely and delicious bakery goods. That’s why I would surely visit bakeries in Japan. My students always recommend sushi, so I might as well try sushi. Which sushi is the best for you, Mommies and Daddies? I really am not familiar with sushi. I always just see them on TV or the internet. Oh, I almost forgot about Japanese snacks. I always think that Japan has a wide variety of unique and flavorful snacks, and I am very curious about which ones really taste great… How about you, Mommies and Daddies? Which Japanese foods would you recommend us?

                   I really hope we could visit Japan someday. I want to learn more about its culture and traditions. I want to know why everyone who visits Japan falls in love with it. And, even if we don’t get to visit many places there, we just hope that we could meet and spend time with all our amazing students with you, Mommies and Daddies. We really hope that we could see Mommy Kayo and her family again… That would make our Japan trip perfect and complete…
