The recommendations of the sightseeing spots in the Philippines
There’s a saying that goes, “Jobs fill your pockets; adventures fill your soul.” Well, I
believe that a person can choose both simultaneously. As someone who loves to travel, learn about new cultures and traditions, explore wonders, and indulge in deliciousdelicacies from different places, this week’s blog is one of my favorites.
Believe me when we, Filipinos, say, “There’s more fun in the Philippines,” because
aside from the hospitable people, our country is also rich in unique wonders that rival the beauty of other famous destinations in the world. Allow me to introduce you to my beloved hometown and the Queen City of the South – Cebu!
In the speak of historical sites, we got you! We have various places for you to
enjoy, such as Magellan’s Cross, Fort San Pedro, and the renowned Minor Basilica of the Holy Child of Cebu. Visiting these places is hassle-free since they are just all located in Cebu City proper.
Magellan’s Cross is a significant historical symbol in Cebu City, planted by the
Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. It represents the introduction of
Christianity to the Philippines and marks the site of the first Catholic mass in the country.
Fort San Pedro, on the other hand, is a historic fortress built by the Spanish in the 16th century. It served as a defensive structure against pirate attacks and later became a prison during the American colonial period. Lastly, the Minor Basilica of the Holy Child of Cebu, also known as Santo Niño Basilica, is a revered religious site in our place.
Established in the 16th century, it houses the Santo Niño de Cebu, a statue of the child Jesus that is considered one of the oldest Christian relics in the country and a symbol of Cebuano Catholic faith.
On the other note, if you are fond of outdoor activities such as swimming, island
hopping, snorkeling, kayaking, or diving, I still got you covered! We have beautiful
beaches with white sand and crystal-clear blue waters in the southern parts of Cebu, such as Oslob, Moalboal, and Alcoy. We also have waterfalls where you can dive or simply enjoy the view of lush greenery and refreshing waters, with the most famous one being – Kawasan Falls.
The beaches in the southern parts of Cebu, like Oslob, Moalboal, and Alcoy, are
incredibly beautiful. The sand is white and soft, and the water is clear and shiny. You can relax on the beach while sunbathing, swim in the clear water, and enjoy the stunning views. Kawasan Falls on the other hand is a stunning and enchanting place on itself. The water that flows down from a high point, creates a beautiful waterfall that shimmers with a bright blue color. Surrounded by lush green trees and rocks, it’s a peaceful and breathtaking spot to visit and enjoy the natural beauty.
Those are just a few of the wonderful sites you can visit and enjoy in our place,
Cebu. We have even more indoor and outdoor attractions for you to explore if you
decide to pay us a visit. I hope to have the opportunity to show you all the beautiful
sites we have here in Cebu.
なぜかきれいな海には心強く惹かれてしまいますね(^^;
あぁ、いつかまたフィリピンのきれいな海で
ゆっくりしたいものです。。。
