【講師コラム】マリア講師No.2～Live life to the fullest～

To live life to the fullest is my favorite quote. This is due to the inevitable reality that we will all become old. Becoming old is a part of life. No one can escape from it. Whether we like it or not, we will all go through a process of change. We will all leave our childhood days, adolescent years, and adulthood. We will depart from our happy days with our friends from childhood to college. One day we will be separated from our family. Our parents will soon leave us. Our siblings and children will have their own family and separate from us. The circle of friends that we are so comfortable with will not always be there for us. We will get weak alongside with losing our eyesight, finding it difficult to walk, losing memory, becoming sick, and experiencing loneliness. These are the realities that we all need to accept as we continue to journey in this world.

But I tell you, it is okay. It is okay to face all these sad events in life. It is okay to get old. What is not okay is not enjoying every stage of our life, not taking opportunities, not treasuring the memories, and not loving our families and friends. Thus, I tell you to live life to the fullest. Treasure every moment in your life. Manifest your presence to your loved ones. Do not be afraid to love and be broken. There is no greater thing in this world than to love and be loved, so say it and express it. Spend time with your family and friends, laugh and have fun. Do not stop learning. Learn something from people and do not be afraid to make mistakes. Take risks. Enjoy the nature. Be involved in your community. In short, be happy as you should. This is because time will come that we will not be able to do these things anymore. Time will come that all of these will be gone. At least when that day comes, there is no sense of regret inside us because we have lived our life in the best way possible. Remember, no one can go back and make a brand new start, but anyone can start right now and make a brand new ending.
