【講師コラム】エリカ講師No.1～Hi,I’m Ericka～

Hi! I’m your newly onboard Englishbud’s teacher, my name is Ericka Jane. I believe when you’re having fun. You’re learning so let’s learn in a fun way!
I’m a Filipino and I live in Tarlac City, Philippines. My family had three people, meaning I’m an only child. I never had any brothers or sisters I grow up in a quiet house playing by myself. I’m thankful I can visit my grandparents and stay there every vacation so I can play with my cousins. Since then, I always dream to be a teacher, we always do role plays and every time I am their teacher. I never thought that dream will come to reality so now I’m a teacher, a kindergarten teacher. Since I’ve never experienced growing up with siblings, I love to teach kids. I worked in a private school in the Philippines for 4 years, but kindergarten in the Philippines is different from other countries like Japan it’s not about daily life. Kindergarten in the Philippines is a preparation for elementary school meaning they have subjects to learn, they need to read, write and learn traditionally. I think it’s tough for children ages 4 to 5 years old learning those things but don’t worry Friday is play day so they can enjoy.

I enjoy working in that school but when it comes to my hobbies, I love to travel to see places and the culture and meet people I like making arts and crafts and watching movies too. I also want to experience applying my knowledge as a kindergarten teacher in a fun and creative way. So, I challenge myself and I started to apply to work abroad everything went well, I was hired and moved to China I teach English to kindergarten learners in a fun and creative way. But because of the pandemic now I’m back in the Philippines and soon I’m planning to work abroad again hopefully in Japan.

While I’m still in the Philippines, let’s get to know each other and learn English in a fun way. We can exchange our hobbies and we can learn from each other too. I can be your older sister, a friend and a teacher at the same time. I’m looking forward to talking to you, so let’s learn English in a fun way and let’s turn your dreams into reality.
