My Journey Beyond Teaching
Hello again, buzzers! It’s me, Harvey! Thanks for having me again. I just wanted to share
something important to me – my personal journey of finding out what I’m good at beyond just
teaching. You see, at Englishbuds, we have a culture of exploring our passions and trying new
things outside of our regular teaching roles.
Let’s go back in time a bit. When I was younger, I absolutely loved drawing. It was my favorite
thing to do. But becoming an architect? Well, that seemed like a far-off dream because it
would cost too much money. Knowing that I grew up in a financially challenged family, I
couldn’t imagine causing my parents headaches just because of my personal interests. Still,
I kept on drawing, practicing on my own, even though the program I took in college was far
from anything related to arts stuff.
Then one day during my college life, I discovered digital and graphic design. It felt like I’d
found a whole new biome if we speak about Minecraft! Even though I didn’t have any official
training, I jumped at the chance of volunteering to make simple designs for events at our
university and help out my friends who needed assistance. That way, I kept myself
entertained while learning at the same time.
Alongside my love for design, I also found out that I really enjoy helping others and being a
leader. So, I joined a bunch of student organizations from our university and eventually
ended up being a part of the supreme student government as one of the representatives. It
was a bit of a surprise for me, but it felt amazing for sure to be a part of something like that.
Now, I am just reminiscing about those days.
Fast forward to my fourth year of college, I became interested in programming. This was also
the time when I joined Englishbuds and was assigned to teach programming lessons using
Scratch. Concurrently, a new interest ignited in me, and I decided to learn the basics of
website development. It was tough at first, but I found myself getting interested in it. I even
had the chance to participate in some project-based commissions with my classmates
during that time, and it was truly an informative experience. Even though I can’t call myself
an expert in this field, the experience itself was incredibly valuable.
Through all of this, one thing has stayed the same – my dedication for learning new things.
It’s what’s kept me going, even when things got tough. And I’m really thankful for all the
chances I’ve had, especially at Englishbuds, where they’ve always encouraged us to try new
stuff. To all young buzzers out there, remember, it’s never too early to start discovering what
you love – learn, unlearn, relearn!
Robloxの難易度の高いプログラミングを
人に教えるまでになっているという💦
これはやはり努力もあったでしょうが
才能あってのことだと思います。。。
Scratchなどプログラミングのカリキュラムを
「これでいいですか?」と送ってもらっても
私にはいいのか悪いのかジャッジする前に
何が書いてあるかサッパリわからないです(^^;
