【講師コラム】アダム講師No.～Productive Summer Vacation at Englishbuds～

Summer vacation! It makes people enjoy a big break from doing so many things so that they can loosen up, rest, and have fun with their families. What amazed me as an instructor? I found out that Japanese students were very productive during the summer season.

Some of them were taking different classes which includes Englishbuds’ summer classes. Some of them were accomplishing many school assignments given by their teachers. Some of them visited their relatives such as grandparents, cousins, etc. Some of them had camped. Some of them spent time with their friends at the park.

Speaking of summer vacation, Englishbuds implemented greater classes during the season. On my end, I was assigned to conduct classes for advanced learners where they learned Science (more on Biology and Earth Science) and Economics. When I handled those classes, it looks like having a fun forum with the kids than having a class. They were very active in giving their ideas and opinions throughout the sessions. Even if they have different views on understanding some topics, they were able to maintain respect for one’s opinions and some of them realized and accepted some facts.

These groups of students were very curious about how something is done or happened. It was a good thing that all of them were interested to learn what is happening around them even to our planet as a whole. Some people said that curiosity kills and some of them said that curiosity makes people discover and learn good things. Between those two, all students are on the good learning side.

Aside from the technical lessons, the students enjoyed the fun part of the summer class I conducted which was Fortnite tournaments. We witnessed how competitive the participants were. All of them showed good sportsmanship with one another. This tournament can be a good start in developing fun practices that will make them create a good learning atmosphere.

All these summer classes made the students had an opportunity to learn and share something relevant and significant within the class. That’s why we can say that the student’s summer vacation is very productive.
