Pets and Man’s Best Friends
Most people are taking care of animals as their pets as stress relievers and happiness to overcome sadness. A HealthDay Reporter Cara Murez wrote in her article that “a new American Heart Association (AHA) survey of 1,000 pet owners found 95% relying on their animal companions for stress relief. About 7 in 10 said they’d rather spend time with their pet than watch television, and nearly half (47%) said their pets helped them be more active.”
I agree with the article written by Ms. Cara. Aside from God, family and friends, pets can be also a source of happiness. Our family has pet dogs. These animals are also part of the family as they help us in some ways.
We have four Philippine/Native Dogs. They protect us from any kind of danger such as theft, bad people encounter, and more. There were times they helped my father to catch vegetable/fruit plant thieves by barking at them. They also serve as improvised doorbells. Whenever some people/guests are in front of our gate, they will bark to call our attention and entertain them. Once we got home from work, they somehow give us energy and make us smile every time they will wag their tails and approach us.
Dogs are one of man’s best friends. They are very loyal and lovable as long as we take good care of them.
